USMLE for an IMG
United States medical licensing examination is a process which all international medical graduates have to give if they wish to practice in the United States or do their residency there.
It is an equivalent to MBBS
If you do residency and then wish to go you will still gave to give USMLE.
Okay now .
How many steps.
Step 1. For non clinical subjects. 8 hour exam. 7 blocks of 40 ques. 1 hour each.
I hour break which can be taken together or divided. The questions are usually long with clinical approach but all are multiple choice questions.

Step 2 has two parts
Ck – theory, has clinical subjects like surgery medicine pediatrics gynaecology and psychiatry.
Questions focus on management 9 hour exam.
Given in India.
Persistence is Key.
CS-. Practical exam.
Has to be given in the US.
Step 3- not necessarily required to apply for residency but does many your CV stronger
After giving the following steps you apply to ERAS and sit in the match. Where you apply to each College seperately. September 15 colleges start taking ERAS application.
The next three months is interview round.
And then the match results come.
Match is when you get selected for residency finally.
