2 Days exam, 16 hours, 410 questions , 13 ccs cases

Can only be taken in the United states. Registration done through FSMB website.

Exam scoring: MCQs 70-75%, CCS 25-30% (Percentage is the total marks of the exam that section holds)

 Preparation time: 4 months

Resources: U world step 3, Amboss step 3, Crush CCS, Biostatistics review, First Aid step 1, risk factor podcast of divine.

 Real exam score: 232

UWSA 1: 217 (3 weeks before exam)

UWSA 2: 222 (1 week before exam)

Preparation strategy: Did u world step 3 twice, along with revision of all tables. I had a few weak topics like cardiology and pulmonary critical care and for those I revised my step 2 CK notes. As far as Amboss is concerned, I did questions just to see if i can solve MCQs after my u world knowledge and definitely practiced my weak topics and most importantly BIOSTATISTICS. Dont need to buy Amboss, just use its free trial.

After my questions I started CCS, did thoroughly from Uworld ccs and read crush ccs pdf side by side. CCS wont take much time, just focus on questions. From first aid, read microbiology, systemic pharmacology, immunology and biochemistry tables.

 Exam experience:

Day 1: People often say that they had a bad first day but i was very happy after day 1 because i studied accordingly from other peoples past experience.

Focused on BIOSTATISTICS, micro, systemic pharmacology, patient safety and ethics and obviously u world step 3. Take help of divine risk factor and ethics podcasts here

Please FOCUS on Biostatistics and you will thank me later.

For biostatistics, use u world, biostatistics review and amboss material as well.

Read dermatology thoroughly.

After Day 1, dont keep thinking about how it went as you have day 2 ahead.

Day 2: more like u world step 3 questions but very small length questions. Upto point questions. No biostatistics or ethics. Only internal medicine, psychiatry. Few ortho, gynae, peds and surgery questions.

6 blocks of 30 questions each.

CCS has 13 cases and was easier than expected, all my cases improved and ended early. Guys, U world CCS are important and please practice all of them.

Also use CCS explanation as a source of learning and it will help you in mcq as well.

Time management is the key to CCS 10 minute cases and real exam software has some latency so dont panic and just wait for it to respond.

Study partner: studied consistently with one study partner throughout my preparation and it helped me a lot to stay focused and not waste a single day.

Definitely recommend a study partner.

 Exam Anxiety:

For those who have exam anxiety in the first block or first few questions.

How I improved is by listening to motivational songs before my exam. Think of your parents or anyone you would want to make proud and most importantly yourself, look in the mirror and maybe talk to yourself how much you have prepared and you will get what you deserve. and when the first question in real exam pops up, just give it a lot of time, take a deep breath and read thoroughly and dont worry about time. Because these first few questions will give you confidence and you will eventually make up for that time and you dont want to panic.

Best way to practice your exam anxiety skills is by applying your anxiety reducing techniques on UWSA and other self assessments.

The line from peaky blinders, If you are well prepared there is no need to rush. So the most important aspect to beat exam anxiety is GOOD PREPARATION. Give your 100% guys
